Hi my name is Jackie known as Jcwiliams5. I am recently reading a book called Letters from Rifka. It is about the Hollocaust. It is kinda interesting but some things I wished never happened like the Jewish people being at blame when anything goes wrong with the Germans. Well Rifka is a Jew and her brother,Nathen, was in war and escapted from it and when you run away the gaurds hunt you down and try to kill you. But he did that to warn Saul that they will be coming for him. So tey had to get away as soon as possible. Well they made to the trainsand hid but te gaurds barely noticed Rifka and when they did the one gaurd wouldn't leave her alone untill theother gaurd told him to leave her alone so he did. So as they were about to check the box were they were Uncle Avrum came in and told them there was a break in in the factory so they left and got onto the train and left. What a miricle! Another thing I would change is the fact that when they made it to Poland the guys and girls had to go seperate directions and strip in front of the doctor to check and see if they were sick. Luckily they were fine but then when they got there clothes on Rifka got her rucksack and relized that they stole her moms candlesticksand Rifka started to cry! It was so sad. I hated the fact that they stole the candles! Well when they got to Poland they got sick with tryph and the mom, dad, and Nathan had to go to the hospital and stay untill they got better. When they got out they went to Warsaw and on the way Rifka got ringworm and couldn't go to America. Se stayed with a Jewish family and soon when she was healed so she was able to go to Ellis Island to get examined and then go to America. Well to tell you again with the bad fortune SHE CAN'T GO! Well I'll tell you because the government think they will have to take care of her due to not having HAIR! Pathetic! Well apperantly she wouldn't have anyone to marry her and care for her so what she has to do is stay in a hospital. Well soon enough something good happened to her and she got proposed to by a man and finally was able to go to America!
